Journalists accessed the telecommunication network and services that TelkomGroup provided on PT Pelni's KM Sinabung, which is used as floating accommodation to support the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo on Wednesday (10/5). Telkom is committed to supporting the success of the ASEAN Summit by providing quality telecommunication infrastructure and TelkomGroup services.

PT Pelni Appreciates TelkomGroup's Commitment to Providing Infrastructure at the Floating Accommodation During the 42nd ASEAN Summit 

Labuan Bajo, 11 May 2023 – PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) remains committed to supporting the success of the 42nd ASEAN Summit by providing telecommunication infrastructure and TelkomGroup services at various venues and supporting accommodations, including the floating accommodation in passenger ship KM Sinabung owned by PT Pelni.

To ensure the telecommunications network quality on the ship, TelkomGroup provides two units of BTS 4G/5G with a maximum speed of 100 Mbps and a capacity of 1,000 users, along with 55 Mbps internet backhaul using MangoStar services. Three dedicated guards are assigned to the ship to monitor this telecommunication infrastructure and services. Additionally, to anticipate traffic density during peak events, TelkomGroup also increases the telecommunications network capacity through Combat installations at the ship's docking location, Waterfront.

"Telkom is fully committed to supporting the success of this international event, the 42nd ASEAN Summit. This is a significant moment for Indonesia, and we ensure that all main and supporting venues are equipped with quality telecommunication infrastructure," Telkom Vice President of Corporate Communication Andri Herawan Sasoko said. 

VP Commercial Passenger & Supporting Business at PT Pelni, Berryl Alifun Rahmat said he appreciated the telecommunication network and services quality that TelkomGroup provided on KM Sinabung. The strengthened network provided can support the smooth running of activities for participants and media crews staying on the ship.

Overall, Telkom has prepared infrastructure, including its backup, and telecommunication services that are ready to meet the needs and potential traffic spikes on the summit day. Telkom has also secured the submarine cable communication system, prepared Telkomsel's BTS with 4G and 5G coverage, and increased bandwidth capacity to ensure the quality of telecommunication services during the 42nd ASEAN Summit event.
