TelkomGroup Ensures Quality of Infrastructure and Services Ahead of 11th ASEAN Para Games 2022

Jakarta, 29 July 2022 – As a leading digital telecommunications company, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) is committed to make the multi-sport event for athletes with disabilities in Southeast Asia – the ASEAN Para Games XI 2022 a success. The event will be held from 30 July to 6 August 2022 in two cities, Surakarta and Semarang, and two regencies, Karanganyar and Sukoharjo. Host country Indonesia will soon welcome 2,500 world-class athletes from 11 ASEAN countries who will compete in 14 sports.

Telkom Enterprise and Business Service Acting Director Venusiana visited the Manahan Stadium venue on Wednesday (27/07) to review the panel room, media center , and control room and to ensure the infrastructure and services readiness. She also visited the Telkom Solo office to inspect TelkomGroup team's readiness for the 11th ASEAN Para Games 2022. Venusiana and her staff also reviewed the telecommunications network at 14 venues in Solo and Semarang, Central Java from the Network Operation Center (NOC) room.

Telkom Enterprise and Business Service Acting Director Venusiana said that TelkomGroup is honored to be entrusted as the official telco partner for the 11th ASEAN Para Games 2022. “TelkomGroup will ensure that all infrastructure and teams are ready to secure international sports events, which Indonesia is proud to host. We are committed to ensure that our telecommunication services' capacity and quality at all venues will run smoothly and successfully," Venusiana said. 

TelkomGroup has rolled out various efforts to support the 11th ASEAN Para Games 2022. TelkomGroup provides internet access of 20 Gbps to serve officials and media as well as 87 BTS nodes (2G/3G/4G) to accommodate data and internet demands during the event. It is one of  TelkomGroup's step to provide excellent service to its customers. The company has also formed the 11th ASEAN Para Games 2022 Task Force to optimally monitor these services and infrastructure readiness.

Venusiana thanked the TelkomGroup team for their commitment in supporting the success of the 11th ASEAN Para Games 2022. "We must pay attention to ensure that internet gateway and backbone infrastructure on a national and regional scale have passed trials to ensure smooth connectivity during the event," Venusiana said.

There are also five Automated Telephone Centers (STO) that will provide connectivity in 14 venues, 13 of which are in Surakarta and one in Semarang. Each venue adopts a dual system homing by having two last-mile accesses consisting of four cores to allow a network device to connect to other devices through two different points and paths. TelkomGroup also provides a monitoring system to secure services during the event.

All TelkomGroup stakeholders will collaboratively secure control on infrastructure connectivity throughout the 11th ASEAN Para Games 2022 by deploying 365 technical personnel at each venue and a national-scale escalation management in six 6 posts across Solo. TelkomGroup also has a rehearsal test aimed to boost all the Task Force personnel solidity and confidence in ensuring that the 11th ASEAN Para Games 2022 runs successfully.

In addition to providing quality ICT infrastructure and services, TelkomGroup Task Force also maintains a strict compliance  to health protocols to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
