Jakarta, 13 October 2021 – Sukarara is a village in Jonggat District, Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia. Most of its inhabitants are from the traditional Sasak tribe and it is also known as one of the best songket producing villages in Lombok. One of the women who works as a songket weaver said that tourists and local residents seemed to have very little interest in these fabrics. After learning about the woman's feedback, Marhayani began uploading photos of songket fabrics woven by women in Sukarara village on Facebook.
