Supporting ASEAN as the epicenter of growth, Telkom focuses on strengthening Indonesia's connectivity by accelerating the development of data centers, digital services, and inclusiveness for small and medium businesses.

Jakarta, 7 September 2023 - Strengthening digitalization and inclusiveness in Indonesia remains Telkom Indonesia's focus as a leading digital telecommunications company. This support for Indonesia is pivotal within ASEAN, the epicenter of growth, boasting over 270 million internet users in 2023, with digital economic growth projected to reach 130 billion US dollars by 2025. Therefore, TelkomGroup focuses on three digital domains: digital connectivity, digital platforms, and digital services.

At the ASEAN Indo-Pacific Forum, the flagship event of the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Jakarta, which fosters inclusive dialogue and collaboration among public, private sectors, and businesses in ASEAN and the Indo-Pacific region, Telkom aims to demonstrate strategic, sustainable efforts in building Indonesia digitalization. This is achieved through active digital inclusion initiatives and expanding digital connectivity under its transformation strategy, five bold moves.

"In the midst of a weakening global economy, the ASEAN economy has proven resilient, surpassing global economic growth with a population of 680 million people. ASEAN presents significant market potential with promising investment opportunities, yet it also faces global challenges. The ASEAN Indo-Pacific Forum aims to transform competition into cooperation, fostering mutually beneficial collaborations that leave no one behind," President Joko Widodo said during the opening ceremony of the ASEAN Indo-Pacific Forum.

"By 2030, the digital economy in the ASEAN region is projected to grow to one trillion US dollars. Strengthening digital adoption and innovation is crucial to supporting the creative economy and empowering small and medium enterprises," President Joko Widodo said.

President Joko Widodo also commended the initiation of 93 cooperation projects valued at 38.2 billion US dollars and identified 73 potential projects valued at 17.8 billion US dollars between ASEAN countries and its partners. This reflects a commitment to building a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Indo-Pacific.

"The ASEAN Indo-Pacific Forum serves as a platform for inclusive dialogue and strategic collaboration to support ASEAN as the Epicenter of Growth," State-Owned Enterprises Minister, Erick Thohir said, echoing President Joko Widodo's sentiments.

He said that facing global challenges requires strategic alliances and collaborations among society, the private sector, and business entities to foster a more prosperous, sustainable, and connected society. The ASEAN Indo-Pacific Forum includes panel discussions, showcases, and business match-ups aimed at inspiring new sustainable partnerships and collaborations to bolster the economy.

"TelkomGroup connectivity spans over 98% of Indonesia's population and extends digitalization even to the remotest areas. To meet the escalating demand for digital and data center services, Telkom through its subsidiary, NeutraDC, focuses on implementing sustainable and environmentally friendly infrastructure through strategic partnerships. Telkom is committed to expanding Indonesia's data center market to global and regional players," Telkom Indonesia Enterprise and Business Service Director, FM Venusiana said during a showcase exhibition attended by President Joko Widodo, ASEAN leaders, and Indonesia's Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir.

"Our data centers, including a 581 million US dollars hyperscale data center project in Batam with Singtel, span 30 facilities [25 domestic and five overseas] across four countries, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Timor Leste, offering tier 3 and tier 4 classifications. We provide products and solutions such as shared colocation, dedicated colocation, cross-connect, smart hand, and DC interconnect," Venusiana said.

On digital services, Telkom accelerates digitalization through Digico, serving as the company's digitalization catalyst with priority products. Telkom also launched Indibiz, a platform enhancing skills and fostering ecosystem collaboration to empower micro, small, and medium enterprises and promote digital inclusiveness in Indonesia. With Indonesia digital economy expected to reach 4,531 trillion rupiah by 2030, Telkom delivers top-tier services in digital connectivity, platforms, and services for its customers. These ongoing efforts reflect Telkom's commitment to digitize Indonesia and cultivate a thriving digital future in the ASEAN region.
