Mandalika, 20 November 2021 – The international motorcycle event, World Superbike (WSBK) is fast approaching.  The event has been taking place since yesterday (19/11) to Sunday (21/11) at the Mandalika International Street Circuit which will also be the circuit for the world's prestigious MotoGP race. PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) has a role in ensuring that telecommunications infrastructure and services in the racing arena and supporting facilities in Mandalika are well in place. In order to ensure that service quality remains excellent during WSBK, Telkom Independent Commissioner Abdi Negara Nurdin and Telkom Network & IT Solution Director Herlan Wijanarko visited the locations of Telkom's infrastructure for site inspection on 18-19 November 2021. They visited the sites of Automated Telephone Center (STO) Mataram, Mataram Command Post, STO Gerung as well as supporting infrastructure rooms and posts at STO Praya. They also had a site inspection at the Mandalika National Operation Center post, where the WSBK race area is located.

When meeting with employees on duty at Telkom Command Posts and STOs, Telkom Independent Commissioner Abdi Negara Nurdin said that Telkom is able and has to take part in making this international event a success, as Telkom has successfully performed in previous national and international events. "Indonesia's good name is at stake, including Telkom as an ICT partner in this grand event. Telkom must ensure that ICT support from Telkom will make the WSBK successful. Keep up the good spirit for all employees on duty and give our best contribution for Indonesia," Abdi said.

Telkom Network & IT Solution Director Herlan Wijanarko said TelkomGroup service posts and infrastructure are now 100% ready for the WSBK race. "There are five things that Telkom is focusing on to make this WSBK race a success. First, the operational discipline of all personnel on duty, in terms of schedule and reporting time. Second, being responsive to all anomalies and dynamics that occur during the races so that they can be anticipated and mitigated early. Third, intensive collaboration with all units and parties that support telecommunications services in Mandalika. Furthermore, routine briefing as a step for monitoring and equalizing coordination steps. Finally, regular patrols along the backbone and access lines to maintain telecommunications infrastructure. Let's together make this WSBK race a success and put Indonesia's good name in the world," Herlan said.

For the WSBK race, TelkomGroup has deployed networks which include backbone expansion, fiber optic deployment at the race location and supporting ecosystems, and adding Telkomsel's Node B Combat to meet ICT needs of 7.22 Gbps in the region. This support is provided in the MASIV area (Media, Accommodation, Security, International Airport, and Venue) with services including View, Internet, and Phone (VIP). Notably at the Mandalika International Street Circuit, telecommunications services are provided in various areas such as the paddock, pit building, medical center, race control, TV compound, and stands.

In order to ensure the security of ICT infrastructure and services during the events in the Mandalika area, TelkomGroup has also set up on-site security posts with multi-level escalation routes starting from local, regional, to national.

Apart from ICT services, TelkomGroup also supports digitalization for MSMEs and ecosystems around the area by setting up Point of Sales (PoS) for MSMEs providing merchandise and food & beverage as well as supporting homestay management around the Mandalika area for room reservations by providing platform and apps that TelkomGroup own, such as Padi UMKM, My Sooltan, Wonderin, and Travel Aja.

Telkom's participation in making the WSBK race a success is manifestation of its support for national economic growth, especially in super priority tourism destinations. World-class events in Mandalika are expected to polish a good image of Indonesia in the international community and stimulate better economic growth for the people in the Mandalika area.
