Well Received, Telkom DigiUp 2023 Registration Increased by 98% from the Previous Year

Jakarta, 19 October 2023 – Digital skills have become crucial assets in today's job market. However, many young talents lack platforms and opportunities to acquire these skills, leading to a deficit of top talents in the technology sector. Data from the Ministry of Communication and Information in 2019 indicates a shortage of approximately 600,000 top talents in technology.

In an effort to address this issue, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) has once again launched the Telkom DigiUp program. Registration for the program was open from September to early October via the website https://telkomdigiup.info/ and was met with high enthusiasm, with 9,741 high school and vocational school students registering from 421 schools across 146 districts and cities in 26 provinces throughout Indonesia.

Telkom DigiUp represents Telkom's commitment to nurturing young talents who will be ready for future employment, aiming to produce high school and vocational school students with national and international certifications in digital competency across Indonesia. This initiative aligns with the 4th Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) focusing on quality education and information, communication and technology skills.

Telkom Community Development Center SGM,  Hery Susanto, said that this year's registration nearly doubled compared to the previous year, growing by 98% from 4,917 registrants in 2022. "In 2023, 42 participants from remote and underprivileged areas will also participate in the selection process, with 14 expected to successfully complete their certifications," Hery said.

Telkom DigiUp Program task force chairman, Danan Suryadi, said that Telkom DigiUp 2023 offers 10 types of training programs, bootcamps, and certifications. Following the administrative and competency selection stages, 1,000 participants successfully advanced to the next phase. Among the registrants, 15% opted for Graphic Designer certification, 11% for UI/UX Designer, and 12% for content creator. Additionally, 4% selected 3D animator, 9% cinematography, 11% Python web programmer, and 7% mobile apps developer. The remaining 9% chose big data scientist, 6% internet of things, and 14% network administrator.

The Telkom DigiUp 2023 activities encompass five programs: assistance with national and international standard digital certifications for high school and vocational school students, competency-enhancing training, seminars, podcasts, tips and tricks series, digital application/platform competitions, and a platform for high school and vocational school student programmers.

With Telkom commitment to social responsibility, particularly in the education sector, the aim is to prepare more young talents to compete on a global scale.

Hery said that all training, bootcamp, and certification activities are provided free of charge. Participants are cautioned against misinformation about Telkom DigiUp and advised to disregard promises of guaranteed graduation assistance. "Selection for participant admission follows a rigorous process, and the committee's decisions are final," Hery said.
