Throughout 2021, Telkom recorded a solid and satisfactory financial and operational performance. Among them are driven by the increase in customers and public online activities following continuous rising demand for internet connection, even though the Covid-19 pandemic  and the emergence of a new variant in mid-2021 that caused a second wave of pandemics have put a massive strain on the national economy. However, the Government's quick and precise response has been effective to control the pandemic, and to gradually restore the economy.

In the Consumer segment, IndiHome also continues to lead the fixed broadband market in the country by controlling more than 80% market share. By the end of 2021, IndiHome recorded 8.6 million subscribers. It was an increase of 585 thousand subscribers from the previous year. In line with this, the Consumer segment's revenue significantly increased by 18.5% YoY to 26.3 trillion, thus contributing significantly in increasing consolidated revenue.

The performance of the Enterprise segment in 2021 is good despite the downturn caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Revenue from this segment reached 19.1 trillion rupiah, or grew by 8.0% compared to the previous period. The Wholesale and International segments recorded revenue of 14.3 trillion rupiah or grew by 5.6% compared to last year. In addition to these four segments, Telkom's performance in other segments have significantly improved thanks to various initiatives in developing and providing various digital services in the Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Customer (B2C) segments.

In November 2021, one of Telkom's subsidiaries, PT Dayamitra Telekomunikasi Tbk (Mitratel), successfully went public with an initial public offering (IPO) and it managed to raise 18.8 trillion rupiah funds. This is part of the company's strategy to create optimal value for the company and its stakeholders, by unlocking tower assets with high valuations that resulted in better valuation for the company.

Telkom President Director Ririek Adriansyah said, "In the midst of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that continues to flatten, Telkom continues to create growth through three business pillars, Digital Connectivity, Digital Platform, and Digital Services . We continue to strengthen our capacity and capability in the digital business in line with the company's transformation to become a digital telco. This has yielded quite good results with Telkom's excellent financial and operational performance throughout 2021. This surely serves as a motivation for us to accelerate the transformation to ensure the company's sustainable growth in the future and to support the acceleration of Indonesia's digital transformation."

In 2022, Ririek said that Telkom will consistently strengthen its network to provide quality broadband services for mobile and fixed with the widest coverage in Indonesia. This is an important effort to strengthen the Company's position as a market leader in the digital connectivity sector. In addition, Telkom is increasing capacity and capability of its data center and cloud business lines as well as various other digital platforms such as data analytics and security which also enables the creation of various digital service solutions according to customer needs.

Telkom is also in the process of increasing capacity and consolidating data center assets, which in turn is expected to unlock the data center business, as the company has previously done in the tower business. Meanwhile, Telkom is always open to establishing partnerships with other parties, including those on a global scale, to accelerate capability improvement such as in the cloud sector or in order to engage with visionary investors to jointly tap the growth opportunities and to create higher value.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Company, we express our gratitude and high appreciation to the shareholders, the Board of Commissioners, loyal customers, business partners, media, the wider community, and other stakeholders for the support given to Telkom throughout 2021. We believe "In the future, Telkom will continue to have good business prospects and growth, as the three business pillars are increasingly relevant to the needs of the community in order to provide sustainable growth for companies to realize Indonesia's digital sovereignty," Ririek said.
