Telkom AGMS 2020 Fiscal Year, Telkom Distributes Rp16.64 Trillion Dividends, Increased 9%

Jakarta, 28 May 2021 – PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) distributed Rp16.64 trillion dividends with 9% increase from last year, or 80% out of its dividend payout ratio in 2020 fiscal year, during the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS) in Jakarta on Friday (28/5). The remaining 20% or Rp4.16 trillion is allocated as retained earnings. 

With such dividends, each shareholder will receive Rp168.01 per share. per lembar saham. As per market closing Thursday (27/5), the stock price was Rp3,380, therefore TLKM dividend yield was 4.97%.

The 2020 financial year dividends will be paid no later than 2 July, 2021. Shareholders who are entitled to receive dividends are those whose names are listed in the Company's Shareholders Register as of 10 June, 2021 until 16.15 WIB.

Throughout 2020, Telkom has actively supported the government's efforts continuously in handling Covid-19 and National Economic Recovery through connectivity, platforms, and digital applications as well as social assistance.

Although the Covid-19 pandemic affected the telecommunications industry, Telkom was able to record a net profit of Rp20.8 trillion, or a double digit growth of 11.5% compared to 2019, with Rp136.46 trillion in total revenue, or grew by 0.7% compared to 2019. In addition, the Company's EBITDA was recorded at Rp72.08 trillion or grew 11.2%. By focusing on three digital business domains, Telkom was able to record a positive growth in revenue performance with a fairly good level of profitability despite the Covid-19 pandemic and tight business competition in the telecommunications industry.

The significant increase in demand for home internet access during the pandemic has led to Telkom striving to meet the rising public demand by adding more services to more than 1.01 million IndiHome subscribers. By the end of 2020, IndiHome subscribers rose to 8.02 million or grew by 14.5% compared to the end of 2019. It impacted positively on the Company, with IndiHome triple play services recorded an increase in revenue of 21.2% to Rp22.2 trillion compared to the previous year and it strengthens IndiHome's position as an internet provider with the largest market share in Indonesia.

In the Mobile segment, a Telkom subsidiary Telkomsel is able to maintain its position as the largest cellular operator in Indonesia with a national coverage serving 169.5 million subscribers, of which 115.9 million are mobile data users. Telkomsel's digital business revenue grew quite well by 7% Y-o-Y to Rp62.34 trillion, driven by the increasing demand for public data services amid the Covid-19 pandemic. With a fairly solid cellular data revenue, the Company recorded Rp70.99 trillion in total Data, Internet and IT Service revenues or grew by 8% compared to the same period last year.

Telkom President Director, Ririek Adriansyah, said the positive performance in those segments has strengthened Telkom's position further as a market leader in the fixed broadband and cellular industries in Indonesia. Ririek acknowledged that the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted society and various sectors on an unprecedented scale. But the Covid-19 pandemic-driven obstacles have spurred TelkomGroup to pick up speed on digital acceleration by providing information and communication technology services and solutions.

"As one of components of the nation, TelkomGroup has the fervor to assist the people and the Government of Indonesia in dealing with the pandemic and recovering to face the future," he said. TelkomGroup provides various services and solutions to all customers and the public with its digital connectivity infrastructure, digital platforms, and digital services support.

In line with its transformation to become a digital telco, amid many challenges in 2020, TelkomGroup continues to expand and improve digital connectivity infrastructure, strengthen digital platforms and develop various digital services, in order to provide the best digital customer experience.

“All TelkomGroup’s business activities and business development initiatives are carried out strategically in accordance with market potential and the needs and characteristics of the Indonesian people, to support digitization in many fields namely education, health, small and medium enterprises (SME) development, finance, agriculture, and various others," Ririek said.

On this occasion, Ririek also said despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the Company remains committed to investing, with its total capital expenditure in 2020 recorded at Rp29.4 trillion or 21.6% of total revenue. The capital expenditures were mainly spent on fortifying networks and other infrastructure to improve digital capabilities, including 4G LTE networks, fiber optic access networks to homes, underwater fiber optic backbone networks, telecommunication towers and data centers. Telkom recorded the Domestic Content Level (TKDN) value independently of around 41.6% of CAPEX spending and 92% of OPEX spending in 2020.

The AGMS also approved changes to the composition of the Board of Commissioners and the Board of Directors of the Company. The Board of Commissioners and Board of Directors’ composition as a result of the AGMS for 2020  Fiscal Year is as follows:
