Business Matching PaDi UMKM East Java Yields 66 Billion Rupiah in Revenue

Jakarta, 8 June 2023 – PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) continuously promotes the creation of Indonesia's digital economy by having held recently the PaDi UMKM Business Matching in Surabaya, to realize Indonesia's digital ecosystem. This was the third business matching that Telkom held with more than 2,100 transactions between micro, small, and medium enterprises or UMKM and state-owned enterprises (SOEs).

The implementation of this program is in line with Presidential Instruction Number 2 of 2022, where the government urges SOEs to allocate at least 40% of their budget for the procurement of goods/services to micro, small, and medium enterprises to help them address the various challenges they face. "State-owned enterprises are committed to supporting the implementation of the Presidential Instruction, which encourages ministries, and institutions, including state-owned enterprises, to be proud, buy, and use local products, notably from micro, small, and medium enterprises. The PaDi UMKM business matching can promote the micro, small, and medium enterprises' economic development, especially in East Java, through transactions from SOEs," Loto Srinaita Ginting, the Financial and MSME Development Expert of the Ministry of SOEs said in his virtual address.

Through this program that brings together micro, small, and medium enterprises and state-owned enterprises, Telkom remains committed to continuously supporting the micro, small, and medium enterprises' quality improvement through this program, as the micro, small, and medium enterprises are one of the foundations of Indonesia's economy. During the business matching event, micro, small, and medium enterprises in East Java recorded a revenue increase of over 66 billion rupiah in just one day.

"Through PaDi UMKM, Telkom strives to create a more prosperous and highly competitive nation. The business matching event significantly increased transactions for micro, small, and medium enterprises in Indonesia and has also provided many other benefits," Muhamad Fajrin Rasyid, Telkom Digital Business Director said.

Since the establishment of PaDi UMKM in 2020 to date, the Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) of PaDi UMKM has reached a total value of 7.3 trillion rupiah with a total of 319 thousand transactions. Specifically in 2022, the total GMV of PaDi UMKM recorded more than 3.7 trillion rupiah. This figure has significantly increased compared to previous years with a GMV of 1.5 trillion rupiah in 2021 and 171 billion rupiah in 2020. Moreover, there are currently around 6,000 micro, small, and medium enterprises and 42 state-owned enterprises that have joined the PaDi UMKM platform, with a total GMV reaching 1.1 trillion rupiah from 33 thousand transactions.

The micro, small, and medium enterprises in Indonesia have benefited from the business matching with a significant growth in transactions. Budi Setiawan, Marketing Manager of PT Usaha Yekapepe, said that since their company joined PaDi UMKM at the end of 2021, the micro, small, and medium enterprises under their wing have generated revenue of more than 7 billion rupiah from transactions with state-owned enterprises. "The PaDi UMKM is a great help for us as it exposes and promotes us to state-owned enterprises. The PaDi UMKM platform is also user-friendly and easy to use," Budi said.

Apart from PaDi UMKM, Telkom also, through Leap-Telkom Digital (Leap), brings the best digital products and services to support the realization of Indonesia's digital ecosystem, aiming for a better Indonesia.
