Telkom's Collaboration with North Sumatra Bank Strengthens the North Sumatra Agricultural Sector Digital Ecosystem

Jakarta, 25 October 2022 - PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) has forged a partnership with PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Sumatera Utara (Bank Sumut) to provide digital service solutions for the agricultural sector through its agricultural app, Agree. Both parties marked the cooperation in a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) signed by Telkom Executive Vice President of the Enterprise Service Division Teuku Muda Nanta and President Director of Bank Sumut Rahmat Fadillah Pohan last week.

The scope of cooperation to provide the Agree platform for Bank Sumut includes piloting the implementation to use services in Agree, providing guidelines, and carrying out the platform operations and maintenance . Telkom's collaboration with Bank Sumut through Agree is expected to benefit both parties in supporting business and  to support development of agricultural ecosystems in the future.

"We thank you for the cooperation that Telkom and Bank Sumut have established so far. With our capabilities, we are ready to collaborate to support ecosystem development for micro, small, medium enterprises, namely by integrating market ecosystems, village ecosystems, and digital ecosystems," Telkom EVP of the Enterprise Service Division, Teuku Muda Nanta said.

President Director of Bank Sumut Rahmat Fadillah Pohan in his remarks said that the cooperation in utilizing Agree digital services is in line with Bank Sumut's commitment to boost the economy of North Sumatra, including to increase agricultural yields and farmer welfare through micro credit financing. "By using technology through applications for micro credit financing, we expect it can also attract millennial farmers, increase access to literacy, and financial inclusion as well as increase the competitiveness of North Sumatra agricultural products," Rahmat said.

Through the Agree service, Telkom is committed to creating a digital agricultural ecosystem that is connected from upstream, production processes, to downstream agriculture by collaborating with all stakeholders in agriculture. "In the future, the digitalization trend will be able to improve customer experience for customers and TelkomGroup is ready to support Bank Sumut's efforts through digitization, increasing a mutually beneficial cooperation between Telkom and Bank Sumut in supporting both parties' businesses and supporting other business developments," Nanta said.

Agree is part of Leap, Telkom's umbrella brand of digital products and services to accelerate the digitization of Indonesian society by integrating three main features, namely Agree Partner, Agree Capital and Agree Market. Together with Leap, Telkom expects it can support the growth of the digital ecosystem in Indonesia in order to accelerate the realization of national digital sovereignty, in line with the government's target in the coming years.
