Telkom and Tanto Collaborate to Implement IoT Tracking Containers from the Antares Platform

 

Surabaya, 27 August 2023 – PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) and PT Tanto Intim Line (Tanto), shipping expedition companies, have forged collaboration to accelerate digitalization in the shipping industry. This collaboration, which will deploy the use of internet of things (IoT) tracking containers to maximize tracking of Tanto's container units by utilizing the IoT technology from Antares.

The Cooperation Agreement "Installation of Works and Provision of Managed Service Tracking Container Services'' was signed at Telkom Landmark Tower, Surabaya recently. The signing was attended by Telkom Regional V Area East Java-Bali-Nusa Tenggara EVP, Teddy Hartadi, Tanto IT Director, Agung Prayitno, and Tanto Business Development VP, Stenvens Handry Lesawengen.

"Telkom, as the backbone of digitalization in Indonesia, is committed to continually innovating its digital products and services to meet the digital needs of various industries in the country. The collaboration with PT Tanto Intim Line, utilizing the Antares platform, provides a solution for monitoring goods deliveries with accurate tracking facilities," Telkom Regional V EVP, Teddy Hartadi said.

The solution presented by Telkom through IoT tracking containers from Antares includes the installation of GPS trackers to detect locations during the goods delivery process. The tracking results can be accessed in real-time via the provided web dashboard. To facilitate monitoring of containers inside and outside the depot, Antares has also installed a bluetooth gateway feature in the container depot.

"We are very pleased that this long-awaited project can finally be realized in collaboration with Telkom. Our collaboration with Telkom has always been successful, and we hope it will continue," Agung said.

The use of the IoT tracking container solution from Antares is expected to streamline operational costs, optimize real-time container tracking, minimize fraud, and reduce the risk of cargo loss for companies. This initiative aims to maintain consumer confidence and further enhance customer experience.
