Jakarta, 23 June 2021 –  The highlight of the Proud of Made-in Indonesia National Movement (Gernas BBI) in June 2021 was well executed. Themed Flobamora Jewel Digital Spark, the highlight of Gernas BBI in June 2021 was held online and offline at Waringin Peak, Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), last Friday (18/6). As Indonesia’s leading telecommunications company, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) participated to support the event, ranging from support such as network infrastructure and implementation, to digitizing tourism ecosystems, MSMEs, agriculture and fisheries, digitizing payment systems and big data analytics in Flores, Sumba, Timor, and Alor regions. The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G. Plate, NTT Governor Victor Bungtilu Laiskodat, and Telkom Strategic Portfolio Director Budi Setyawan Wijaya were present during the highlight of the Flobamora Jewel Digital Spark.

Flobamora Jewel Digital Spark is a program that generates the spirit to boost NTT’s economy and culture by using digital tools in MSMEs, agriculture and fisheries, tourism, and education, so that they can rise, grow, prosper, become a host in their own country, and sparks throughout the world as the jewel of Southeast Asia. In addition to the digital ecosystem, Telkom's other support for Gernas BBI Flobamora Jewel Digital Spark program is by providing a Virtual Expo platform (https://ve.kilaudigitalflobamora.id). The expo is being held on 1 - 30 June 2021.

There are 100 food, craft, fashion MSMEs from across the province that are participating in the Flobamora Jewel Digital Spark Virtual Expo. They have been curated by Telkom, Bank Indonesia, Labuan Bajo and Flores Management Agency, and national marketplaces. The transaction during the virtual expo used QR Indonesian Standard (QRIS) digital payment, which met Bank Indonesia’s standards.

"We can’t deny that the rapid development of technology, coupled with the pandemic that accelerates public adoption of digital has served as a trigger for Telkom to continue providing the best digital infrastructure, products and services for the community, in line with our ongoing transformation into a digital telco. The virtual expo platform is a manifestation of Telkom's support to develop an MSME ecosystem that is ready to go digital, so that more and more highly competitive and global-scale businesses will emerge from Indonesia," Telkom Strategic Portfolio Director, Budi Setyawan Wijaya said.

Budi added that Telkom has been providing training to hundreds of MSMEs in NTT that were not used to selling online to join the marketplace platforms and the MSME Digital Market (PaDi), which the State-Owned Enterprise Ministry developed as a marketplace for SOEs to shop for their operational needs on MSME products.

MSMEs that have not been able to participate in the virtual expo event will still be provided with the opportunity and access for commercialization to various marketplaces, including PaDi MSMEs. The training for MSMEs was held in various regions in the province, such as Labuan Bajo, Maumere, and Kupang.

Telkom, Bank Indonesia and the NTT Provincial Government also introduced digital transactions using QRIS to 200 sellers in each market. "The various assistance we provide for MSMEs are not just in NTT but also throughout Indonesia. We hope that the strength of these local economic players will strengthen Indonesia's digital economy in the future," Budi said.

Telkom is not just supporting the MSMEs ecosystem, it also consistently supports the government's efforts to create a digitized agriculture & fisheries, education and tourism ecosystem. For the agriculture & fisheries digitalization ecosystem, Telkom has a platform called Agree that integrates all agricultural and fisheries stakeholders from upstream to downstream nationally through Agree Partner, Agree Assistant, Agree Modal, and Agree Market services. Telkom rolled out the pilot project to digitize fishery ecosystems in NTT and in Indonesia in Sikka Regency, followed by Ngada Flores Regency.

Telkom is also involved in digitizing and establishing a tourism ecosystem by introducing the Wonderin.id platform in the Tourism Network (JP Hub) application with BAKTI Kominfo and the Go Digital Tourism Village program. Watublapi Tourism Village is a collaboration program between Telkom and BAKTI that plays an active role in supporting and developing the village into a tourist destination with a touch of digital literacy.

In the education sector, Telkom has the Pijar platform as an online learning facility for MSMEs and the general public to improve their competence and capabilities. In line with this BBI, Bakti Kominfo in collaboration with Telkom conducts a ToT (Training for the Trainer) training for tourism activists, and to be followed by training for tourism SMEs for onboarding in the JP (Tourism Network) HUB application on the Indonesia Tourism Exchange platform, which integrates all inventory, sellers and buyers in the tourism sector.

Telkom encourages transaction digitization by efforts to assist digital payment technology (QRIS) readiness and conduct a training of trainers (ToT) for traditional markets traders. Lastly, Telkom also supports the NTT Provincial Government in analyzing sentiments/trending issues that the NTT community most talk about, which they can use for policy making based on big data analytics.

Telkom's support to digitize various industrial sectors and ecosystems will not stop here. We are committed to supporting all government's efforts to digitize and transform people's business models, in tune with the continuous development, because we believe that with digital optimization, we can make Indonesia better," Budi said.
