Telkom held a work readiness call to ensure the readiness of network infrastructure and services for the ASEAN Summit 2023.

 

Jakarta, 1 September 2023 -  In commitment and readiness to support the success of the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Jakarta, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) held a work readiness call for the TelkomGroup ASEAN Summit on Friday (1/9) at Telkom Slipi, Jakarta. The call, led by Telkom Network & IT Solution Director Herlan Wijanarko, was attended by all employees and technicians responsible for maintaining TelkomGroup's infrastructure, network, and services during the ASEAN Summit on 5-7 September 2023.

To ensure the success of the 43rd Summit, TelkomGroup has prepared telecommunications network infrastructure with a total bandwidth capacity of 27.7 gigabits per second (Gbps), supported by multiple redundancies. Additionally, the conference will benefit from 196 access points and seven satellite news gathering. The main venue for the 2023 ASEAN Summit has been equipped with network infrastructure capable of reaching a maximum capacity of 100 Gbps.

A team of 242 personnel will oversee operations at the command post, conference area, and field to maintain excellent service quality throughout the event. Eight command posts, including central, regional, and subsidiary locations, will monitor and ensure service quality continuously. TelkomGroup's services feature diverse communication channels and are fortified with next-generation firewalls to preempt cyber attacks.

Telkomsel, as a Telkom subsidiary, has optimized network capacity and quality across more than 2,590 broadband base transceiver stations, including an additional 149 4G/LTE base transceiver stations. It has also deployed five compact mobile base transceiver stations to anticipate potential communication traffic spikes in areas such as accommodations, all locations hosting the 43rd ASEAN Summit meetings, and key transportation hubs like airports and tourist destinations. Furthermore, Telkomsel has expanded its 5G network coverage with the addition of seven 5G base transceiver stations at various event points for the 43rd ASEAN Summit, ensuring seamless broadband network access with cutting-edge technology for all delegations.

Telkom has a history of successfully supporting international state events, including the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, which proceeded without major issues. In addition to the main conference venue, Telkom supports telecommunications infrastructure and services at critical locations such as airports, delegation hotels, and media centers. Telkom also operates command centers for the Presidential Security Force, police, and the military.
