On the same occasion, the two parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the Smart Government Services Program through One Indonesia Data, Exploration for Digitalization of Agricultural and Plantation Ecosystems, and Exploration of Cooperation for MSMEs Digitalization. The MoUs were signed by the General Manager of Medan Regional, Mustakim Wahyudi and Medan City Administration Officials. Previously on separate occasions, Telkom also signed similar MoUs with the Binjai City Administration, Dairi Regency Administration, and Karo Regency Administration.

The Governor of North Sumatra, Edi Rahmayadi, welcomed Telkom's initiative in realizing the digitization of local governments, especially in this province, with four digital services; Agree, BigBox, PaDi UMKM , and TravelAja. Edi said that this was an important initiative in assisting the administrations which was beneficial as it is more controllable for them from planning, budgeting and execution in the field. Moreover, it would give a boost to improve people's digital literacy.

In addition, Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution also said he appreciated Telkom's initiative in supporting Indonesia's digitalization in the regions, "We appreciate Telkom's support in accelerating digitalization, especially for Medan MSMEs, in the midst of this pandemic."

Telkom Digital Business Director, Muhamad Fajrin Rasyid, also thanked the North Sumatra Provincial Administration for their good response to Telkom's initiative through various digital products. "As a state-owned telecommunications company, Telkom is committed to supporting the Indonesian people's social and economic improvement in order to accelerate the transformation of Indonesia's digital sovereignty. Leap is a manifestation of our support for digitization in various sectors and aspects of people's lives, including the government. We hope that in the future, Leap can facilitate city and district administrations' activities in North Sumatra so that they can be more competitive and ready to become digital cities and districts," Fajrin said.

Fajrin added that to support government digitization, Telkom provides various service solutions. Telkom has digitized One Data through BigBox, a full stack big data platform for corporations and governments for data governance. Telkom also has the Digital Market (PaDi UMKM) for local businesses. It is a digital platform-based ecosystem that serves to bring together SMEs and SOEs to increase opportunities for obtaining transactions and financing. Furthermore, Agree is a digital product that plays a role in the development of a digital agricultural ecosystem. Agree comes as a solution from the upstream, production, to downstream side of agriculture and is open to collaborating with all stakeholders in agriculture. Agree is also used in the fisheries and livestock sectors. Lastly, to support the digitization of tourism, Telkom introduces TravelAja,  which focuses on the tourism ecosystem with its main function as an end-to-end platform for managing business trips and personal trips, as well as for digitizing the tourism industry.

"In the future, Telkom through Leap will continue to contribute to providing the best innovations for improving people's welfare because we believe that with digitalization, we are optimistic that we can make Indonesia a better place," Fajrin said.
