Three SMEs supported by Telkom showcased their best products at the China-ASEAN Expo

 

Jakarta, 24 September 2023 –As part of PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom)'s commitment to supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) entering the global market, Telkom recently brought products of three of micro and small enterprise that it fosters to the China-ASEAN Expo at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center in Nanning, Guangxi, China. The event was attended by Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Ma'ruf Amin, as well as Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir, who emphasized the ministry's commitment to enhancing the global presence of Indonesian MSMEs.

The China-ASEAN Expo was established at the 7th ASEAN China Summit in October 2003 to foster cooperation between China and ASEAN countries in trade, investment, and tourism. Compared to dozens of small and medium businesses throughout Indonesia, Telkom showcased some of the best small and medium enterprises that it supports, namely ROTB Bali, Radalexo Bali, and Soko Craft from Pekalongan.

Telkom aims to provide a platform for small and medium enterprises under its guidance to become familiar with broader and promising business development areas for the future of small and medium enterprises, which is welcomed by business stakeholders, including Radalexo. "Hopefully in the future, we can participate again in other small and medium business exhibitions both at home and abroad. In my opinion, events like this are very beneficial; apart from introducing products from local small and medium enterprises, they also boost enthusiasm for small and medium enterprises to innovate, be creative, and compete with others," said Ni Putu Radhani Sanjigandewi, owner of Radalexo.

Telkom's support demonstrates its commitment to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 8, which promotes sustained economic growth, decent work, and livelihoods, including by enhancing the capabilities of micro, small, and medium enterprises in Indonesia to export their products abroad. Telkom emphasizes the importance of digitalization as a crucial step for businesses to adapt to globalization, providing educational guidance and certifications for MSMEs aiming to enter the global market.
