Telkom's Indigo Game Incubation Program Successfully Supports Local Game Startups to Go Global

Jakarta, 12 October 2023 –  As the games industry in Indonesia continues to expand, local game developers are seizing opportunities with great enthusiasm. To bolster Indonesian game developers' competitiveness in the global market, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom)'s Indigo Game incubation program has successfully accommodated 33 game studios, with nine of them securing full contracts with global publishers to advance their games through development until final release and monetization.

Established in 2019, Indigo Game has implemented various supportive activities for its startups. One of these initiatives is PlayTest Day, conducted in collaboration with Bandung Techno Park, a digital startup incubation program from Telkom University. PlayTest Day serves to validate key aspects of game development, including gameplay, artistic elements, and performance, ensuring that games developed meet high-quality standards suitable for the global stage.

"Through PlayTest Day, a cornerstone of the Indigo Game incubation program, game startups receive direct feedback from 39 playtesters specializing in fields crucial to game development, such as information systems, software engineering, and multimedia,Ida Bagus Mahaputra Arta, Deputy EVP Digital Business Builder at Telkom said.

Galih Prasetya, CEO of Strayflux Studio and participant of PlayTest Day, emphasized its significant impact. "PlayTest Day greatly aided us in refining and validating our game 'As I Began to Dream'. Numerous playtesters tried our game and provided invaluable feedback, guiding our future development," Galih Prasetya said.

Additionally, Indigo Game actively collaborates with diverse communities, supports government initiatives, and partners with global publishers, reinforcing its role as a catalyst for local game studios. Through these initiatives, Indigo Game aims to foster the creation of globally competitive games that can be successfully monetized, enabling Indonesian game developers to achieve international recognition.

"The Indigo Game incubation program emphasizes innovation, creativity, and quality. We provide funding, support for publishing activities, networking events, mentoring programs, and state-of-the-art facilities to empower game developers to penetrate both Indonesian and global markets," Muhamad Fajrin Rasyid, Director of Digital Business at Telkom said.
