Jakarta, 20 August 2021 – The peak of the 76th Indonesian Independence Day celebration was festive despite restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The success of the event was due to TelkomGroup's commitment and synergy to make the 76th Independence Day celebration, which was broadcast live from the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta on 17 August, a success.

TelkomGroup was  involved in the main event of the 76th Independence Day celebration through its subsidiary, SEA Today, an international scale, in-house TV channel at IndiHome TV that focuses on broadcasting news and lifestyle programs. SEA Today is the official TV pool broadcasting the ceremony to commemorate Indonesia's Independence Day, and SEA Today is the only TV station that has live coverage on location for distribution to other media. The broadcast that SEA Today produced is relayed by all TV and electronic media in their broadcast about the Independence Day ceremony. SEA Today's footage is also used by the government, which broadcasts it on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel.

Even though it is still less than a year since SEA Today's soft launch on 28 October, the news broadcaster has been successful in its role as a TV Pool for the Independence Day ceremony. It is evident from the shooting technique and innovation that enabled viewers to follow the course of the event through quality and enjoyable shows.

Telkom President Director Ririek Adriansyah said, "The state's trust in TelkomGroup through SEA Today is a proud moment for us and it encourages us to continue contributing to the nation and state. By using various cutting-edge technologies in its broadcasting process, SEA Today has proved its capacity as an international-scale TV channel capable of meeting the various viewing needs of the public. The success of SEA Today in its task as the 76th Indonesian Independence Day commemoration ceremony official broadcaster is a manifestation of TelkomGroup's dedication to develop a strong, growing, and go digital Indonesia."

SEA Today production of the Independence Day ceremony broadcast uses advanced technology, such as robotic systems, 360-degree cameras, cockpit flypasses, and drone cameras. It results in high quality broadcast with low latency thanks to the support of a 6.5 Gbps internet network. SEA Today operated the entire broadcast production process in compliance with strict health protocols to minimize the potential for Covid -19 transmission.

Apart from being the TV pool for the independence day ceremony SEA Today has several times been assigned to produce coverage of certain events. SEA Today was the TV pool for the arrival of the Covid-19 vaccine at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. It was the TV pool for the launch of privately-run Gotong Royong vaccination program in Jababeka, Bekasi Regency, on 18 May.

“Since SEA Today officially aired on 28 October, Telkom Indonesia remains committed to always supporting all of its programs and activities. We are optimistic that the SEA Today broadcast can improve national branding and strengthen Indonesia 's positioning internationally, especially in the Southeast Asian region. Telkom will continue to provide support and maximize synergies with SEA Today, as well as all members of the TelkomGroup, to accelerate Indonesia's digital transformation process," Ririek said.

In addition to TV pool support, TelkomGroup provides connectivity for broadcasting the Independence Day celebration via a video conference platform, which attracted 45 thousand viewers, and wifi access and Telkomsel 5G services. TelkomGroup fully monitored those supports to ensure that the annual state event went successfully.
